Job Description
The Process area is the central processing point in the brewing of beer, covering yeast management, wort fermentation, beer centrifugation/yeast separation and beer maturation. The process operator carries out all these processes and reports to the Shift Brewer.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with other Brewing, Packaging, Production Services and Maintenance Technicians, Lab Technicians, Contractors and Shift Managers to ensure continuity of reliable, quality production.
  • Support other team members and develop positive relationships with colleagues.
  • To ferment and mature all AOP beer volumes and ensure continuous supply of high quality beers and good team spirit.
  • Manage the effective feeding of fresh yeast cultures in accordance with laid down company procedure.
  • Monitor and control fermentation process/performance.
  • Carry out process vessels beer mains CIP and ensure an infection index of <10%.
  • Carry out gulen beer centrifugations/yeast separation.
  • Control cost of operation by minimizing process waste while ensuring good housekeeping/hygiene at all times.
Requirements
  • Ordinary National Diploma preferably Food and Biological Sciences;
  • 2 - 4 years relevant experience within the Food & Beverage Industry;
  • Experience within brewery operations is highly desirable
  • General Certificate in Brewing/Packaging is an added advantage
  • Computer Literacy
  • Team Player
  • Ability to influence colleagues and associates.
